Settling into year ten

Hi guys,

I know it has been a long time since I last posted a blog post but I have been settling in to year ten at school. Year ten in the UK is the year when you start your GCSE course. I chose my GCSE options in April 2014 when I was in year 9. I am very pleased with the options I chose because I think that they are very interesting. I didn't want to do too many academic subjects since I following pathway 1.

My first option was separate science because then I could get a GCSE in biology, chemistry and physics. I want to be a midwife when I am older so having 14 hours of science every 2 weeks was a good option for me. I am really enjoying separate science but I would have to say that my favourite of the 3 sciences is definitely biology but closely followed by chemistry. I find physics boring sometimes but it is an extra GCSE so I can't complain.

My second option was Spanish because I really enjoyed learning throughout year 7,8 and 9 so I knew that it was a good option for me. I am still liking Spanish even though my friends think I am mad for taking it as an option. What I didn't know about Spanish is that you get told about the GCSE question before the exam so you can practice what you are going to write in the exam.

My third option was food technology in my opinion everybody should take food tech because you learn soo many life skills concerning food. for example when I am a student I won't have to live off tosties because I will be able to make simple but tasty meals for a small price. I love food tech mainly because of all the food we make but I also like the written work because my teacher makes it so easy to understand.

My last and favourite option is dance even though I have never done a dance lesson outside of school I made a massive improvement in my dance and posture just because I have been doing dance in school. I took an interest to dance in year 8 when my friend Sophie persuaded me to join dance club. When I found out that I could take dance as a GCSE I knew that I was going to take it 100%. To make it even better the exam is worth 20% of the mark and 80% of the mark is practical work which will probably be my favourite part of the exam.

I don't just do these 6 subjects I still have to do English literature and language, maths, RAVE (religious and values education) and P.E (physical education).

Sorry I haven't been posting regularly but I am going to try and stick at it this time. Thank you for reading this post.

Bye from me
